Sprains


Acute condition:

Prevention

The most common sprain in sports injuries is ankle sprain, which could be happened from proprioceptive errors of human body,  collision with other players,  gaps/holes/bumps on the ground surface etc.
To prevent sprains,

  • reduce proprioceptive errors
  • reduce response time to adjust its conditions
  • strength surronding muscles

Balance disc/board exercise can train neuromuscular coordination and reduce response time, which reduce both of proprioceptive erros and response time.
Rubber tube training can strengthen surronding muscles.
Kinesio Taping is one of commonly used method to support and stabilize joints without restricting range of motion, or by adjusting range of motion, which can be used for rehabilitation as well.
